I have found a JD4300 4x4, HST, 430 FEL(4n1bucket), turf tires, 200hrs,serial number:LV4300H231605, asking price $15,000. I am a recent reader of the post and it sounds like there were problems initially with these models, but have since been fixed on the new production.1. What yr model is this? or 2xxxxx equals 2nd yr of production is the best we can get from the serial number.2. Are the problems in early production models repaired by the dealer beyond warranties. I am guessing this tractor will not have a warranty.3. What are the things that I can look for during a demo that are not obvious, but specific to this model?4. Thoughts on the price. Cosmetically the tractor is perfect.4. Will JD finance used equipment not purchased by them?

This tractor is a 1999 model, thus will not have the updates associated with the 2000 and 2001 year models. The tractor was originally purchased by Barnes Lawn Care, Inc. Morehead City, NC, phone 252-247-5793. It was stolen on 6/27/01 and recovered on 6/30/01, according to John Deere Corporate Security. The computer shows the tractor to be in warranty through 8/26/2001. John Deere will not finance a used tractor unless it is purchased through an authorized John Deere dealer. John Deere will not take care of any problems on the tractor beyond the warranty except through Product Improvement Programs (PIPs) that are issued on a series of tractors covered by serial number range. There is one outstanding PIP on this tractor and it is a fix as fail, i.e., the dealer cannot install it unless the part fails (has to do with shifting). This unit has had three warranty claims filed on it. The last was relative to a snap ring on the rockshaft control rod that broke; the second was a failed ignition switch; the first was a leaking hydraulic hose and a sticking seat safety switch. Pricing is relative. I don't sell 4-in-one buckets, so don't know the add-on for that, but you can buy a new 4300 with a 430 loader, turf tires, 61" bucket in this area for about $19,000.00. Hope this information helps you. ....

Wow, Tom. You just did that fellow a huge favor. Just wanted to commend you on helping, since that is about 1,000 times more information than most used compact buyers would have access to. ....

Ditto to what Rob said. I dont know what JD 4n1 buckets cost. Most of the 3rd party buckets I a familiar with are made by WR Long. A 60" bucket with valve and thumbswitch is about $2000 not including installation costs. Carver has a whole Long bucket attachment submenu on his website. ....
